I want to make the Great Southern a better place to live and to ensure that regional communities are given a fair go by government.

I live in Denmark and have been the principal of the WA College of Agriculture Denmark for nine years. My family is also active in small business enterprises, including liquor retailing. We also owned a travel agency for seven years and family farm in the Porongurups.

My parents have lived and worked in the Mt Barker region for nearly 20 years, in both education and farming. They are now managing chalets in Walpole. Grandparents on both sides have been farmers and were some of the original settlers in the Denmark and Cranbrook regions respectively. My maternal grandfather, Frank Smith, was well respected for his views on conservation of the Stirling Ranges.

My family has a strong interest in sport, especially in tennis and golf, however squash, running, netball and surf lifesaving also feature. Various family members have been involved with numerous community groups, including the local Chamber of Commerce, Denmark Music Foundation and the Great Southern Regional Marketing Association.

I am committed to:

  • Making the Great Southern a better place to live, visit and invest
  • Making sure the Great Southern gets a fair go
  • Listening to the people of the electorate and responding to their needs
  • Working hard, and to being Stirlings strong voice in parliament.
